Looking down the road……..
T.H. Bacon Chapter Challenge – The T.H. Bacon and Bacon Bits patches are in. So if you are one of the 38 members that took part in stealing the Bacon from Polk County Chapter, pick-up your patch from Bogey or Reggie when you check-in at this month’s business meeting. Reminder of the patch rules: First time participating in a chapter ride wherein we steal the bacon, receives the T.H. Bacon patch. Subsequent participation in chapter rides that result in us stealing the bacon, receives the bacon bit patch and is repeatable.
Oh! And did I say Bacon? Yes, the next Bacon chapter challenge is being hosted by the Lake County Chapter (Gator H-D) in Leesburg on Jul 12th. More details to follow soon.
HOG Membership Drive – From May 1 through July 31, National HOG will reward your chapter with a $50 bonus for every new National Harley Owners Group or Passenger member you bring into this amazing family. To receive the credit, each new member your chapter recruits must enroll as a H.O.G. member using a unique referral code that identifies your chapter as the sponsor. How to Enroll New Members in H.O.G.
- New H.O.G. National and Passenger members can enroll at h-d.com/hog (click ‘Join Now,’ then ‘Create New Account’) or by calling 800-CLUB-HOG (800-258-2464; M-F 8:30 am to 5 pm CT)
- When joining, these new members should select Chapter as the Referral Source in the “Did someone Refer You” Section, then type your chapter number in the Chapter Referral Code/Chapter Name field to ensure your chapter receives credit for their enrollment.
Bogey & Reggie will have promotional material you can pick-up when checking-in for the meeting.
From our Regional HOG Manager – “As the saying goes, if you’re not moving forward, you’re going backwards, and the same is true for H.O.G. To move ahead in the future, we must always be growing and bringing new blood into the Harley-Davidson riding community. With your help, we can do it.”
Teddy Morse’s Ride For The Kids 2025 – This year’s ride to support t Camp Boggy Creek will be on Sunday, Nov 16th. So please mark your calendar to participate in this extremely worthwhile event. Cost is $50 for Rider/Passenger each. Check-in opens 7:00 am and KSU is 10 am. Details for our participation in assisting the dealership is still on the drawing board. I’ll be looking for volunteers to assist with this, especially those of you that have done so in the past that can lend your knowledge. More to follow as it develops…
Event Calendar – What’s your Passion, or what does FUN look like to you? You have ideas for riding events – please share them with our Activities Officer – Dammit Dave Glenn! Dave’s email address is: daveglenn32@gmil.com or use the “Contact Us” form on our website.
Looking for some HOG/Chapter Merchandise? We now have some inventory that will be on display for your purchase (cash or check only) the same day as our monthly meetings. See our Quartermaster – Kim Paige.

Exhaust notes……
Our new website is up and running! We did have a snafu with our “Member Only” section login, but that was quickly remedied. You’ll want to save this url to your favorites:
dbhog.com – Daytona Beach HOG Chapter
For the Members Only section, you’ll need the following: (Pls protect this as it is for chapter members only)
Log-in: Member
PW: dbhog
Once logged into the Members section you’ll see a dropdown menu that includes “Directors Msg” which is where I will be posting this weekly update. You’ll also see our newsletter and meeting minutes.
Chapter Business meetings – No details worked out yet on moving our monthly meetings to the dealership, so for the time being I have reserved our usual timeslot at Houligans on the following dates: 6/28, 7/26, 8/23, 9/27, 10/25, 11/22.
T.H. Bacon – For our new chapter members that don’t know what the BACON is all about. Look up T.H. Bacon on Facebook and you’ll see how much fun everyone has with it!
RIDE 365 – Hey, with all those rides we’ve got posted, pls don’t forget to record your rides and do the dealership check-ins for the monthly challenges.
“Easy Ride” What is it you may ask. Are you a new rider, or unfamiliar (uncomfortable) with group riding, a new member to the chapter, or just want to brush-up on this skill set? Then this event is for you! The event will start-off with a verbal explanation of the techniques of group riding, hand signals, Road Captain’s and your responsibilities. This will be followed by a group ride that will take the novice group rider along a route designed to introduce the techniques of group riding at a level to instill both knowledge and self-confidence.
You may have noticed that our rides are mostly listed as Closed (CL) events. If you have a guest accompanying you either on your bike or theirs, pls ensure that you inform the person leading the ride so that a waiver can be completed. This is mandatory as per Mother HOG, so no waiver, no ride. This is required for the insurance HOG provides us, so it’s very important! Thank you for your assistance on this!
Here’s a reminder about the types of events we have:
Open event (OP) – are those chapter events which are open to chapter members, National HOG members and other guests.
Closed event (CL) – are those events which are open to chapter members and one guest per member.
Members Only (MO) – are those events that are ONLY open to DB chapter members.
Non-Chapter Events (NCE) – are activities planned and placed on the calendar, though they are not events sanctioned by National HOG or the chapter for various reasons.
Dealership event (DS) – TMHD event that we as a chapter should try to support whenever possible.
Keep ride’n, keep smile’n, and keep have’n fun!
